The Spring 2002 Laboratory for Atmosphere's seminar series is being replaced with a Workshop on Spanning Regional to Global Pollution on May 7-9, 2002. The regular twice monthly series is CANCELLED because of the re-modeling of the H114 conference room.
Do you have a recomendation for a speaker or workshop for the seminar series? Send us the suggested speaker's name, address, and topic.
Other seminars in the regionThe atmospheric chemistry community has traditionally studied large-scale atmospheric processes using either; 1) aircraft and satellite measurements, and global models, or 2) small-scale processes using aircraft and surface measurements and regional models. There is a need to connect these two scales. The science community is moving to understanding these connections and the contributions of meso-scale and regional processes to the global environment. In particular, how photochemistry and meteorology/transport of ozone/ ozone precursors and aerosols affect the global environment. The workshop will focus on evaluating our understanding of regional scale transformation/ transport processes, the coupling of the regional and global scale, and to determine the observational needed to understand these connections. It is expected that the proceedings and recommendations of the workshop will be published.
